Over the years we got to know a lot of impressive people and organizations, who share Jyoti’s Vision of a fair textile industry and produce beautiful, handmade artifacts. Next to our usual collections, which are created in cooperation with the women in Chittapur and Londa, we have thus started to cooperate with some of these artisans. Together we design accessories and garments, which all result from specific handicraft, such as knitting, crocheting or jewelry making and different materials. The availability of products in our Jyoti x Friends collection is always limited, but of course we are continuously designing new, beautiful pieces for you.
Blouse Sahay Black
Blouse Sahay Black
incl. VAT, plus shipping
[su_accordion][su_spoiler title="Description" icon="caret"]Wide crop-blouse with voluminous, ruffled sleeves and a balloon-shape. It has a low-cut neckline which can be worn front or back. The blouse is relatively short cut and thus perfect to combine with high-waisted trousers or skirt. Due to the ruffles, the blouse is rather large, so if your body measurements lie in between sizes, please choose the smaller one.
The black, loose cotton weave falls light and soft. Sahay is made in collaboration with the Swiss Fair Fashion Label Jungle folk. It is part of our special Capsule Collection in which we combine deep experience in products made of baby alpaca wool by Jungle Folk and Jyoti’s expertise in handwoven textiles. [su_accordion][su_spoiler title="Description" icon="caret"]The fine-knitted pullover is made of very soft and warm baby alpaca wool – perfect for the cold seasons. It’s cut hugs the body through its elastic knit and falls soft. At the sleeve ends and the lower hem slim cuffs ensure an elegant finishing as well as some extra cosiness.
[su_Icon_organic][/su_Icon_organic][/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title="Value Chain" icon="caret"] The wool of our pullover comes from Alpacas that live freely in the Andes of Peru. They are trimmed once a year with respect to strict guidelines protecting their well-being - an aspect that is of uppermost importance to us as the well-being of the animals is an absolut priority for us. Oh and interesting to know is that the term "baby-alpaca" doesn’t refer to the wool of baby alpacas but describes the particularly warm and soft underhair of adult alpacas.
Now you might think: sounds great, but why don’t you produce the pullover in India, as usual? The main reason is that (until now) we couldn’t find any wool-knit-wear producers that matched our sustainability requirements. Hence, we decided to collaborate with the Swiss-Peruvian label Jungle Folk whose knit wear is handmade by a Peruvian initiative supporting women.[/su_spoiler]

Blouse Sahay Creamwhite
Blouse Sahay Creamwhite
The blouse is rather large, so if your body measurements lie in between our size details, please choose the smaller one.
The Peace-Silk is wild silk and woven soft with a lot of small, lovely irregularities. The fabric is undyed and shows its natural silky texture. As also other animal fibres, like wool, silk has a natural isolation effect. The high proportion of air in the fibre ensures that the material keeps your body heat close to you in the winter and is shielding you from the heat in the summer. The fabric is thus cooling and warming at the same time. Sahay is made in collaboration with the Swiss Fair Fashion Label Jungle Folk. It is part of our special Capsule Collection in which we combine Jungle Folk’s experience in products made of baby alpaca wool and Jyoti’s expertise in handwoven textiles. [su_Icon_Handgewebt][/su_Icon_Handgewebt][su_Icon_organic][/su_Icon_organic][/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title="Value chain" icon="caret"]
The creamwhite silk fabric is handmade by families from Assam in the region around Guwahati and is provided to us by our partner 7Weaves . The so called Peace-Silk is produced without harming the lives and habitat of the silkworms and dyed with natural colors. Traditionally manufactured on the loom and woven from handspun yarn, the fabric contains small irregularities, which contribute to its unique structure. Thus, each meter of this valuable material has its very own look. Finally, Sahay is sewn in our workshop in Chittapur.

The Mahwani family has been in the business of jewelry making for three generations and makes – following traditional Rajasthani styles – unique designs and we think they are fabulous. You can find more information about them and other artisans who collaborate with the small, Berlin-based label Perelin here.[/su_spoiler]

[su_accordion][su_spoiler title="Description" icon="caret"] The roughly knitted turtleneck pullover hugs the body through its flexible knit and falls heavy. The fabric bulges a little around the sleeve ends and the lower hem becoming even more cozy and comfortable.[su_Icon_organic][/su_Icon_organic][/su_spoiler][su_spoiler title="Value Chain" icon="caret"] The wool of our pullover comes from Alpacas that live freely in the Andes of Peru.
Hence, we decided to collaborate with the Swiss-Peruvian lable Jungle Folk whose knit wear is handmade by a Peruvian initiative supporting women.[/su_spoiler]

[su_accordion][su_spoiler title="Description" icon="caret"]Pullover Sathee has been knitted with love by the team-members of a Peruvian initiative for women and is made of 100% Peruvian baby-alpaca-wool.
The fine-knitted pullover is made of very soft and warm baby alpaca wool – perfect for the cold seasons. It hugs the body through its stretchy knit and falls softly. The sleeve ends and the lower hem slim cuffs ensure an elegant finishing as well as some extra cosiness.
As the well-being of the Alpacas is of uppermost importance to us, we made sure to source the wool from freely living alpacas that are trimmed only once a year and with respect to strict guidelines protecting their well-being. Oh and interesting to know is that the baby-alpaca doesn’t refer to the wool of baby alpacas but describes the particularly warm and soft underhair of adult alpacas.
Now you might think: sounds great, but why don’t you produce the pullover in India, as usual? The main reason is that (until now) we couldn’t find any knit-wear producer that matched our sustainability requirements. Hence, we decided to collaborate with the Swiss-peruvian lable Jungle Folks for now. [su_Icon_organic][/su_Icon_organic][/su_spoiler]

[su_spoiler title="Wertschöpfung" icon="caret"] This jewelry is crafted by a small family of artisans in Pushkar (Rajasthan) in North India. Rajasthan is the centre of goldsmith art in India. For centuries, people have been working with silver and since recently with brass as well. The Mahwani family has been in the business of jewelry making for three generations and makes – following traditional Rajasthani styles – unique designs. Even though this family is not a member of our group of seamstresses in Chittapur we would like to support them because we think they are fabulous. You can find more information about them and other artisans who collaborate with the small, Berlin-based label Perelin here: www.perelin-berlin.com[/su_spoiler]

Ring Reva Brass
Ring Reva Brass
incl. VAT, plus shipping
[su_accordion][su_spoiler title="Description" icon="caret"]This beautiful Ring Reva was designed by us Jyotis in Berlin – as all our jewelry is. Nevertheless this time we tried to adapt our simple, straight designs a little more to the usual patterns of our friend, the artisan Somnath, who is crafting the ring in Rajasthan. In this way we wanted to include him more actively in the creation of our jewelry. Whether you recognize a crown, a rising sun or anything else in Reva’s pattern, for sure its beautiful design will inspire you every single day!
