Our collections are created in close collaboration between the Jyoti founders, Carolin and Jeanine, and our pattern maker, Mareike. In this process, we draw inspiration from our lives in Berlin, travels to India, and frequent exchanges with our Indian team. We place particular importance on minimal fabric waste and timeless, high-quality design in order to create durable pieces that will bring you joy for many years to come.

Made from Modal

Modal is a cellulose-based fibre made from wood. We love it for its beautifully soft, smooth feel and its elegant, fluid drape.
The fabric feels light and comfortable against the skin and absorbs moisture well. With proper care, it maintains its softness and shape over time, making it a lovely choice for garments designed to be worn again and again.

Woven in Gujarat

This fabric comes from our partner Herbal Fab. The company, which cooperates with various weaving mills in the western Indian state of Gujarat and works with certified organically grown cotton, is a particularly valued partner of ours, as they not only offer beautiful, high-quality, and very special fabrics, but are also committed to organizing health and education programs in their state.

Sewn in Chittapur

Our oldest workshop is in the small southern Indian town of Chittapur. Since 2010, sewing has been taking place here under the umbrella of our partner NGO Jyothi Seva Kendra - many of the employees from back then are still part of the team today. The women are employed directly by us, and the primary goal of our work is to support them on their way to a financially independent and self-determined future by creating fair jobs and training opportunities.

After the products have been packaged in the workshops, they begin the long journey to Germany, where the Jyoti team in Berlin is excited again and again to receive a package full of little treasures. In our office, warehouse, studio and concept store in Prenzlauer Berg, all newly arrived products are checked for errors and your orders are lovingly packed and shipped.

We deliver to all countries from which you can order from our shop. However, outside the EU import fees may apply depending on regional regulations.
