We are Jyoti Fair Works
About Us
JYOTI - FAIR WORKS is a German-Indian fair fashion label that produces clothing in a socially and ecologically sustainable manner. We produce clothing and accessories that bring joy to our customers, but especially to all the people involved in the production - from the workers in cotton cultivation, the weavers and the seamstresses. In order to guarantee this, it is important to us to know the people who are involved in the production of our clothing - along the entire value chain.
What we do
We manufacture our clothing in three sewing workshops in the southern Indian towns of Chittapur, Londa and Hyderabad, where we now employ more than 20 women and work closely with the local NGOs Jyothi Seva Kendra, Nava Chetana Kendra and the Access Foundation. Socially disadvantaged women receive training as seamstresses, permanent employment, various further training opportunities, regular medical check-ups and a fair salary. Along our further value chain, we also work exclusively with small family businesses, cooperatives and social enterprises. They weave and print all of our fabrics by hand with love using traditional techniques.
What we value
We have met them all personally on numerous trips. This way we can not only ensure that the quality is right and that the products are produced in an environmentally friendly way, but also that the money you pay for our products is not swallowed up by large corporations or intermediaries, but actually reaches the producers and supports their craft. Aspects of sustainability are not only important to us in the area of the production of our raw materials, but also have a significant influence on the design of our products. We not only try to design pieces that can be worn for many years due to their timeless character and quality, but we also make sure during the design process to produce as little waste as possible and to reuse every last bit of it.
Why we do this
We also see Jyoti - Fair Works as a medium to start a discussion. A discussion about the value of our clothing and the work that goes into it. About how we can change the textile industry sustainably and how we can achieve a fairer economic system. A first important step is more transparency - and we want to start with that right away. For this reason, we consistently communicate openly how we work, where we work and what problems we still face.
"Of course, we alone will probably not revolutionize the textile industry. But we can set a positive example and show that things can be done differently, better, and more fairly. We can be an inspiration for other companies and an alternative for customers. And we can enable a large group of women in India to earn a living. And we think that's already quite a lot."

vision
We are committed to a different textile industry, one that focuses not on profit but on people and the environment.
mission
As a fair fashion label, we want to ensure that everyone involved along the entire value chain can make a good living from their work. It is also our highest priority to keep the ecological impact of textile production as low as possible.
Value
We act in a financially, socially and ecologically sustainable manner. We rely on trusting and equal cooperation with all our partners and believe in open cooperation for mutual development - with the women in India, our partners and customers.
