The Jyoti Size Guide

product size tables

On the product pages of our clothing items, there is a button called "Size Chart" under the size selection. Here you will find the "product size chart" for the product. These are the final measurements of the respective product. To check whether this item fits you, you can compare it with a similar item.

Take a similar garment and lay it flat on the floor. Now compare the measurements shown in the drawing with the measurements of your piece. Of course, every garment is cut a little differently, but this will at least give you a little idea of how big the Jyoti garment is. When you compare the product measurements with your body measurements, make sure you have at least 2cm extra "space" to ensure a comfortable fit.

Important: All of our garments are sewn or knitted by hand. We are all imperfect, so inaccuracies of +/- 1-2cm can occur.

body measurement tables

We base our sizes and cuts on these body measurements. You can measure your body and use the table to see which Jyoti size fits you. These measurements are taken close to the body.

Our size selection is not yet completely size-inclusive, but we are working on continually expanding our range and welcome feedback and suggestions.

Finally, it is important for us to say: You are great just the way you are - no matter what size you wear!

Note: We are aware that our online shop and size system is currently still very binary, but that does not mean that our cuts and clothing items do not work outside of the gender binary. How you identify yourself, what you wear, what style and what size - that is entirely your decision!

How to measure yourself correctly

We have created a video for you that explains how to measure yourself correctly.

drawstring

Our trousers with this symbol have an internal drawstring in the waistband. This allows you to pull the trousers a little tighter if they are a little loose.

Extra seam allowance

All trousers with this symbol have an extra wide seam allowance at the waist. This means you can easily sew the trousers tighter or looser if they no longer fit you.

double hem

All trousers and jumpsuits with this symbol have a double hem. This allows you to lengthen the trouser legs by up to 5cm. Of course, you can always shorten them!

Jyoti shirts

In addition to our classic shirt cut, we also offer a longer version (Long Fit), a tailored version (Slim Fit), and a slightly wider cut version (Relaxed Fit).

You wear standard shirt sizes and the sleeve lengths usually fit you. Comparable sizes: 46 - 54.

You are taller than 180cm and shirts are usually too short on your sleeves and body. Comparable sizes: 96 - 104.

You have a slim build and like your shirts to be close-fitting. Choose the "Hilu" or "Hamu" shirt.

Shirts sometimes feel tight around your stomach, or you simply like shirts that are loose and slightly oversized. Choose the "Nakshita" shirt here.

material behavior

The material also plays a role in the size selection. Our fabrics are all pre-washed and therefore will not shrink the first time you wash them at home.

Here you can find out everything else about our fabrics!

WOVENS

We do not use elastane or similar, so none of our fabrics are elastic. They give a little when worn, but shrink again when washed. With a few exceptions, our fabrics are hand-woven. They are therefore a little more fragile at the seams. Choose a size that is not too tight and stretchy.

DENIM

Our cotton denim does not contain any elastane and is therefore not stretchy. However, this material gives slightly when worn, expands a little and adapts to your body. Since it is very stable, you can choose a tight-fitting size with a clear conscience.

KNIT

Our knit is very elastic and gives way when worn. It adapts wonderfully to your body. Depending on your taste and desired fit, you can also choose a size smaller. Just pay attention to the sleeve length.

Attention: Only wash alpaca wool in cold water, otherwise your item will involuntarily be several sizes smaller. Here you can find more information on proper care.
