Our collections are created in close collaboration between the Jyoti founders, Carolin and Jeanine, and our pattern maker, Mareike. In this process, we draw inspiration from our lives in Berlin, travels to India, and frequent exchanges with our Indian team. We place particular importance on minimal fabric waste and timeless, high-quality design in order to create durable pieces that will bring you joy for many years to come.

Made from cotton from certified organic farming.

We use cotton whenever we are looking for a particularly soft, comfortable and durable material that feels good against the skin and is easy to care for.
The cotton used for this product comes from certified organic cultivation. The certification sets requirements for the processing of organic fibres, including the use of chemicals as well as environmental and social criteria at certified stages of the supply chain.

Printed in Bagru

In block printing, delicate patterns are carved into wooden blocks using special iron tools. These blocks are then used to seamlessly print entire lengths of fabric with impressive precision. Our partner Bagru Textiles works with many of Bagru's residents, who mostly do their work from home. The company places great value on fair wages and invests part of its profits in health and education programs.

Sewn in Chittapur

Our oldest workshop is in the small southern Indian town of Chittapur. Since 2010, sewing has been taking place here under the umbrella of our partner NGO Jyothi Seva Kendra - many of the employees from back then are still part of the team today. The women are employed directly by us, and the primary goal of our work is to support them on their way to a financially independent and self-determined future by creating fair jobs and training opportunities.

After the products have been packaged in the workshops, they begin the long journey to Germany, where the Jyoti team in Berlin is always happy to receive a package full of little treasures. In our office, warehouse, studio and concept store in Prenzlauer Berg, all newly arrived products are checked for errors and your orders are lovingly packed and shipped.
