Our collections are created in close collaboration between Jyoti founders Carolin and Jeanine and our pattern technician Mareike. In this process, we are inspired by our life in Berlin, trips to India and lots of exchange with the Indian team. We place particular emphasis on minimal waste and a timeless design of the highest quality in order to create long-lasting pieces with the smallest possible ecological footprint.

Made from alpaca wool

The Peruvian alpaca wool we use is obtained with a special focus on animal welfare. The animals live freely in the Andes and are gently sheared every two years. For our products we mainly use baby alpaca wool, the name of which in no way describes the age of the animal, but refers to the particularly fine, soft undercoat of the adult animals - known for its softness and exceptional insulating properties.

Knitted by Diamanta

Diamanta is a WFTO-certified workshop of the Belgian NGO Solid Crafts and is located in the highlands of Ayacucho in Peru, where many women have traditionally learned to embroider, crochet and knit. The now over 200 employees receive professional support and a fair salary for their work. The profits are donated to another social initiative for young women.

This product was not made in our own workshops, but by one of our cooperation partners. Why? Over the years we have had the pleasure of getting to know many impressive initiatives with a similar philosophy to Jyoti, who also produce sustainably but specialize in a different craft such as knitting, crocheting or blacksmithing. We didn't want to withhold their products, skills and materials from you:)

After the products have been packaged in the workshops, they begin the long journey to Germany, where the Jyoti team in Berlin is excited again and again to receive a parcel full of little treasures. In our office, warehouse, studio and concept store in Prenzlauer Berg, all newly arrived products are checked for errors and your orders are lovingly packed and shipped.
